Everything you need to know about browsing, sharing, and installing the My Photography Collection app on your phone.
๐ 1. Browsing the Gallery
Photos are organised into folders/albums, shown in the sidebar (or the folder grid on mobile). Tap or click a folder to open it โ folders can contain photos, videos, or more sub-folders.
Search: use the search bar at the top to find a photo or video by filename across every folder you have access to.
Photo of the Day: a featured photo appears at the top of the sidebar, refreshed daily.
Most Viewed / Most Downloaded: popular photos are highlighted in the sidebar so you can jump straight to favourites.
๐ Members folders: some folders are private and only visible after signing in.
๐ Dark mode: toggle the moon/sun icon (bottom corner) to switch between light and dark themes โ your choice is remembered.
๐ผ 2. Viewing a Photo
Click or tap any thumbnail to open it full-screen in the lightbox. From there:
๐งญ Navigation
Use the โ โ arrows (or swipe on mobile) to move between photos
Click outside the photo, or the โ, to close
Videos play with standard controls
โ Photo Info
Tap the โ button to see view/download counts
Camera details (model, settings, date taken) for photos that have them
GPS location, if available, with a map link
Use the โฌ Download button to save the original file to your device.
โ 3. Sharing Photos
Tap the โ Share button in the lightbox to open the share panel. Each photo gets its own link with a proper preview image and title โ perfect for posting or messaging.
Social icons: Facebook, X (Twitter), Telegram, and Pinterest open that platform's share dialog with the photo ready to post.
WhatsApp: opens a pre-filled message with the photo name and link.
Copy Link: copies a direct link to that specific photo โ paste it anywhere.
Email: sends the photo itself as an attachment, with a link back to the album.
๐ก The link you share opens a clean page showing just that photo, with its own download and share buttons โ the person you send it to doesn't need an account to view it.
๐ค 4. Members Area
If you've been given a members account, click ๐ Members Login at the top of the sidebar (or the Account tab in the mobile app).
What members can do
See private folders shared just with them, alongside the public gallery
โค Favourite photos to find them again quickly
๐ฅ Share photos with other members directly โ they'll see them in their "Shared with me" panel
๐ฌ Leave comments on photos
๐ฅ Export folder contents and receive newsletter updates about new albums (if enabled)
Forgot your password?
On the login page, click "Forgot password?" and enter your email โ a reset link will be sent to you (valid for 1 hour).
๐ค 5. Install on Android
The My Photography Collection mobile app installs straight from your browser โ no app store needed.
On your phone, open Chrome and go to https://comwebmt.com/photo-collection/m/ โ or scan the QR code from the ๐ฒ Install tab on the right edge of the gallery page using your phone's camera.
A banner reading "Install this app for quick access" should appear near the bottom of the screen. Tap Install.
If the banner doesn't appear, tap the โฎ menu (top-right of Chrome) and choose "Add to Home screen" or "Install app".
Confirm, and the app icon will appear on your home screen like any other app.
โ Once installed, the app opens full-screen (no browser bar) and works just like a native photo app.
๐ 6. Install on iPhone / iPad
iOS doesn't support one-tap installs, but adding the app to your Home Screen takes a few seconds:
Open Safari (this must be Safari, not Chrome) and go to https://comwebmt.com/photo-collection/m/ โ or scan the QR code from the ๐ฒ Install tab, switching it to the iPhone view first.
Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow pointing up) in Safari's toolbar.
Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
Tap "Add" in the top-right corner.
โ The app icon now appears on your Home Screen and opens full-screen, just like an installed app.
๐ฑ 7. Using the Mobile App
The mobile app has three tabs at the bottom:
๐ Home
Browse folders and photos. Public folders are always visible; if you're signed in, your private folders appear too (marked ๐ Members).
๐ Search
Find any photo or video by name across every folder you can access.
๐ค Account
Sign in with your member email and password, or sign out. Signed-in members can also open the full Members Area for favourites, comments, and sharing.
Tap any photo to open it full-screen โ swipe left/right to move between photos, swipe down to close, and use the โ button to share.
โ 8. FAQ & Tips
Why can't I see a folder I was told about?
Private folders only appear once you're signed in with the member account that has access to them. Make sure you're logged in (check the Account tab), and contact the album owner if you still can't see it.
The shared link I received says "invalid or expired"
Photo share links don't expire โ if you see this message, it's likely a password reset link instead, which is only valid for 1 hour. Request a new one from the login page.
Can someone I shared a photo with see my whole album?
No. A shared photo link shows only that one photo, with its own download/share options โ it never exposes the rest of a private album.
How do I remove the app from my phone?
Treat it like any other app โ press and hold the icon and choose Remove/Uninstall (Android) or Remove App (iPhone). This doesn't delete anything from the gallery itself.
Still need help?
Contact the album owner directly โ they can check folder permissions, resend invitations, or help troubleshoot.
